Cause 1: Excessive noise from blowers and induced draft fans. When blowers and induced draft fans are operating, issues such as unbalanced impellers, worn bearings, or excessive airflow can generate significant noise. Solution: Inspect the impellers of the blowers and induced draft fans; if they are unbalanced, correct the imbalance promptly. Inspect the bearings; if they are severely worn, replace them immediately and replenish the lubricant. Adjust the fan speed to reduce airflow and prevent overloading. Install silencers at the fan inlets and outlets to minimize noise transmission.

Cause 2: Excessive combustion noise. Incomplete fuel combustion, an improper air-to-fuel ratio, or abnormal furnace pressure can lead to excessive combustion noise, such as “banging” or rumbling sounds. Solution: Adjust the air supply to the burner to ensure an appropriate air-to-fuel ratio and promote complete fuel combustion; clean ash and oil deposits from the furnace to prevent interference with flame propagation; check the furnace pressure; if abnormal, adjust the airflow of the induced draft fan and blower to ensure stable furnace pressure.

In thermal oil or hot water boilers, circulation pumps can generate significant noise if the impeller is jammed, the bearings are worn, or the motor malfunctions. Solution: Inspect the circulation pump’s impeller and remove any debris to prevent jamming; inspect the bearings and replenish lubricating oil; if severely worn, replace them promptly; inspect the motor; if faulty, repair or replace it promptly; install vibration-damping pads at the bottom of the circulation pump to reduce noise transmission.

Reason 5: Noise caused by vibration of the boiler body. If the boiler body is not securely fastened, the grate is loose, or the heat transfer surfaces are deformed, this can lead to vibration during operation and generate noise. Solution: Inspect the boiler’s mounting bolts; if loose, tighten them immediately; inspect the grate; if loose, adjust and tighten it immediately; inspect the heat transfer surfaces; if deformed, repair them promptly to prevent increased vibration.
