A gas leak from a gas boiler is a very dangerous safety hazard. When natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), or other gases leak, they mix with air to form an explosive mixture. If exposed to an open flame or an electrical spark, this mixture can cause an explosion or fire, resulting in serious safety incidents and property damage.

Step 1: Immediately shut off the main gas valve to cut off the gas supply. If you detect a gas leak (by smelling a pungent odor or hearing the sound of gas escaping), first and foremost, stay calm and do not panic. Immediately shut off the main gas valve to stop the gas supply and prevent further leakage. At the same time, under no circumstances should you turn any electrical appliances on or off (such as lights, switches, or outlets), and you must not use any open flames (such as lighters or matches) to avoid creating electrical sparks or open flames that could trigger an explosion.
Step 2: Ventilate the area to reduce gas concentration. After closing the main gas valve, immediately open the doors and windows of the boiler room to ensure good ventilation. This allows the leaked gas to be expelled promptly, reducing the indoor gas concentration and preventing the accumulation of gas that could form an explosive mixture. At the same time, everyone must immediately evacuate to a safe outdoor area; under no circumstances should anyone remain or move around indoors to avoid gas inhalation and poisoning.
Step 3: Locate the leak and repair it promptly. Once the gas concentration indoors has decreased, put on protective gear outdoors and use soapy water to locate the leak (check pipe joints, valves, gas meters, and other areas; if bubbles form after applying soapy water, it indicates a leak at that location). Never use open flames or electrical sparks to locate leaks, as this could create a hazard. Once the leak is located, if you are unable to repair it yourself, immediately contact the gas company or a professional repair technician to have the leak repaired promptly. Do not attempt to repair it on your own.‘
Step 4: Pre-use inspection. After the leak has been repaired, open doors and windows to continue ventilating the area for a period of time. Then, check the gas pipes and valves for leaks. Slowly open the main gas valve to conduct a leak test. After confirming there are no leaks, start the gas boiler and closely monitor its operating status to ensure there are no abnormalities
