Operating a thermal oil boiler may seem complex, but as long as you remember these 3 core points, you can ensure safe and stable operation. Even beginners can master it easily, eliminating worries about operational errors.
First: Ensure uninterrupted thermal oil circulation. Never allow flow stoppage. The core function of a thermal oil boiler is the circulation of thermal oil. If circulation stops, localized thermal oil temperatures can spike, causing severe issues like thermal oil degradation and boiler coil burnout—potentially leading to safety incidents. Therefore, during operation, constantly monitor the circulation pump’s status to ensure it functions properly. Simultaneously check the thermal oil level and pressure. If low liquid level or abnormal pressure is detected, promptly investigate the issue, replenish thermal oil, or repair the fault. Never operate the boiler with interrupted circulation.
Second Point: Strictly control temperature and pressure; overheating and overpressure are strictly prohibited. The operating temperature and pressure of thermal oil boilers must remain within design parameters. Overheating causes thermal oil degradation and aging, shortening its service life and potentially damaging boiler components. Overpressure increases safety risks, potentially leading to leaks, explosions, or other accidents. During operation, closely monitor thermometer and pressure gauge readings. If temperature or pressure approaches upper limits, promptly adjust burner fuel supply to reduce parameters and ensure stability.
Third Point: Conduct Regular Inspections and Address Abnormalities Promptly. During operation, periodically inspect all boiler components, including the burner, circulation pump, valves, gauges, furnace chamber, and heating coils, for leaks, unusual noises, damage, or other anomalies. Simultaneously check the condition of the thermal oil. If the oil darkens in color, develops sediment, or increases in viscosity, it indicates possible degradation and requires immediate replacement. Should any abnormalities be detected, immediately halt boiler operation. After identifying and resolving the issue, restart the system.
Beyond these three points, ensure adequate ventilation in the boiler room to prevent fuel leaks and potential safety incidents. Operators must be certified, thoroughly familiar with boiler procedures, and strictly prohibited from unauthorized operations.
